Amina, Zulfa and Ramadhan John
Amina, Zulfa and Ramadhan come from the nearby city of Arusha where their mother raised them on the street. An abusive alcoholic, their mother often beat them. Aware of their plight, Amani’s street educator met with their mother frequently to counsel her. After many such discussions, their mother decided to send Amina, Zulfa, and Ramadhan to live at Amani so that they could be given food and begin attending school. Since coming to Amani, the three siblings have gone through a rapid transformation from frightened and malnourished toddlers to playful and healthy young children. Loved by all of the caregivers, Amina, Zulfa, and Ramadhan are beginning preschool classes this year.
