Dennis Yahaya
Dennis is an 11-year old boy from Moshi. Because of his family’s poverty he struggled to get food at home. He dropped out of school to try and make money by collecting and selling scrap iron. When his mother fell ill and was sent to the hospital, there was no one left to care for him.
He lived on the streets for one month before he met one of Amani’s social workers and came to live at Amani. At first, Dennis was a very quiet boy and had difficulties making friends with other children, but today he is a happy, gregarious young man. Possibly a future biologist, Dennis loves studying plants and insects.
