Rescuing Children. Restoring Hope. Transforming Lives.

Emanuel Leshock

12 year old Emanuel is the youngest of 12 siblings. His parents separated when he was only 7 and shortly after that his mother died of an AIDS-related illness. Emanuel and his siblings soon went to the streets in search of food. He lived there for several months, but was often abused by older street children and security guards. When Emanuel met our street educator in 2005 he decided to come to Amani. At first he struggled to give up the anti-social behaviors he had learned on the street, but after being given love and positive role models, Emanuel has grown into a kind and respectful young man. On top of his emotional development, Emmanuel is also excelling physically by training with Amani’s acrobatic troupe.
