Fakid Iddi

Fakidi Iddi, age 15, comes from the town of Merarane. Passed from relative to relative as a small child, Fakidi’s unstable home life become so unhealthy that he ran to the streets at the age of 13. When introduced to one of Amani’s social workers, Fakidi decided to come and live with us. Despite the fact that he has had only had two years of schooling, Fakidi speaks excellent English and is eager to catch up on the lessons he has missed. Soon to be enrolled in Amani’s on-site educational program, Fakidi now has the chance to make a new life for himself. In his free time, Fakidi enjoys playing soccer and training with Amani’s acrobatic troupe.
