Godfrey Mkenda

Godfrey is a 15 year old boy who loves to laugh. Originally from Dar Es Salaam, he had to flee his home because his father died and his mother’s new husband did not accept him. To avoid this situation he stayed with his uncle for a while, but soon left for the streets because his uncle’s wife abused him. As he faced many challenges while living on the streets of Dar Es Salaam, Godfrey moved to Moshi and was brought to Amani by our street educator in August 2008. An exceptionally well behaved child, Godfrey enjoys studying English and art. Godfrey says that he enjoys going to school at Amani and wants to become a businessman when he grows up.
