John Issaya

John, 14, was raised by his mother after his father passed away. Because his mother was abusive, John ran away from home and lived on the streets for a year. While living on the streets, he faced many challenges including harassment from the local police and constant hunger. But John’s days of fear and want have come to an end now that he is living at Amani. A talented artist who loves drawing, John is known for his easy-going personality and his ability to get along with nearly anyone. Deeply devoted to his faith, you can find John in church every Sunday morning.
