Lameck Emanuel
Lameck is 14 years old and comes from a small village outside of Arusha. His life at home with his mother was difficult because she had no job and was unable to provide Lameck’s basic needs. He often went hungry and wore the same clothes day after day.
Lameck left his mother’s home and lived on the streets of Arusha, where he struggled to find food and a safe place to sleep. He survived by begging during the days.
Amani’s social workers met with Lameck and invited him to come to Amani. They are currently working with his mother to see how a reunification might be possible. Lameck is enrolled in a nearby public school. He hopes to work in a government office someday.
