Omary Juma

Omary is 16 years old. He is a remarkably dependable young man with a bright future. But this wasn’t always the case for Omary. He left his home at a young age because of grinding poverty and the inability of his mother to feed or care for him.

Like so many other children, Omary turned to the streets and tried to earn money by begging. However, he quickly found that life on the street was no better than life at home. When offered a place to live at Amani, Omary gladly accepted. Now living at Amani, he likes to hang out with other children, joke around, and play soccer.
