Paulo Kalist

Paulo Kalist’s family was extremely poor. He and his parents suffered from skin disease and starvation. Paulo went to the streets to look for a job to support his parents, but was unable to find one. He began begging and slowly became a permanent street kid. He came to Amani after meeting our street educator. Before coming to Amani, Paulo had never attended school, so Amani’s teachers have given him extra help to teach him to learn to read and write. Amani was also able to help Paulo get the medical care he needed. Now almost a teenager, Paulo loves playing soccer.
