Victor Juma

Victor is 14 years old and comes from Arusha. Friends of his family agreed to let him stay with them as his mother’s alcoholism worsened. When Victor was 12 he left this family home because he couldn’t get along with his adoptive mother.

He lived on the streets of Arusha for two years, trying to find food and a safe place to sleep. He performed odd jobs for people, fetching water and washing cars, in order to survive.

Victor is now finishing his primary school education at Amani. He loves to speak English and wants to go to university someday to become a professor.
