Goodluck Fraterin
Goodluck comes from the village of Rombo, where he lived with his father and grandmother. His father died and his grandmother, with no income, was unable to provide him his basic needs.
He left his grandmother’s home in late 2008 and fended for himself on the streets of Moshi, where he fought constant hunger and a lack of shelter. Goodluck managed to scrape together enough money for food by collecting and selling scrap metal to local shopkeepers.
He had heard about Amani from other homeless children and went out of his way to meet Godfrey, Amani’s Street Educator. In October 2009 Amani’s social workers reunited Goodluck and his mother. They continue to work closely with Goodluck and are currently helping him arrange an apprenticeship in a local car repair shop. Goodluck’s mother is happy to have her son home.
