Rescuing Children. Restoring Hope. Transforming Lives.

James Jackson

Eleven year old James Jackson lived with his father in a small town near Moshi before running to the streets. After his mother died, James’ father would become angry and physically abuse him, and so he fled his home.

After spending just three days on the street, James heard about Amani Children’s Home from the other children. Resolving to make a better life for himself, James walked 50km on his own to seek help at Amani.

At Amani, James studied in our On-site Educational Program and became a hardworking student. In October 2009, after working with James’ father, Amani’s social workers were confident that it was best for James to return home. He is now studying at a local primary school. Amani’s social workers continue to make regular visits to James and his father.
