Johnson and Jordan John
Brothers Johnson and Jordan John came from a very troubled home. They’re mother sold drugs at home and the circumstances this created became so bad that they decided to run away. On the streets of Arusha Johnson and Jordan looked out for each other, but were frequently abused by older street children. They were happy and thankful when they came to Amani in September 2007.
While living at Amani Johnson proved himself to be an intelligent, open-minded and caring young man. Devoutly religious, Johnson works hard to learn to read so that he can study the Bible on his own. Jordan has a fun and witty sense of humor and could frequently be seen laughing as he walked down the halls between class.
After many months of searching and negotiation, Johnson and his brother Jordan were reunited with their uncle. Amani’s social workers say the family is very poor and Amani’s assistance is a necessary ingredient to ensure that the family stays together. Both boys will continue their education in a public school and Amani will cover the costs of their school fees to help. Amani’s social workers continue to meet with the John family.
