Josephat Ibrahim
The streets of Arusha are no place for a 14 year old boy. Josephat Ibrahim knows that better than most. Josephat hoped to earn enough money to go to school and so he left his impoverished home in the village of Karatu.
The life he discovered was in many ways worse than the one he had left. Constantly hungry, afraid, and desperate, Josephat needed a helping hand. He found that help in the form of Amani’s Street Educators, who offered to bring him to live here with us and begin working with his parents to reunite the family.
In May 2009, Amani’s social workers helped reunite the Ibrahim family. Josephat is now back at home with his mother, father, sister and brother. Amani has agreed to help the Ibrahim family by paying for Josephat’s school fees and will continue to follow up on his progress. Josephat is excited to continue his formal education.
