Rescuing Children. Restoring Hope. Transforming Lives.

Ramadhani Abdallah

Ramadhani comes from a village on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. His family is very poor and was not able to send him to school. Ramadhani ran away to look for work in Arusha. After living on the streets for a while, Ramadhani was brought to Amani.

Ramadhani excelled in the education program at Amani. Like many of the other children at Amani, he loved to play soccer and practice his reading in the library.

With Amani help and the cooperation of Ramadhani’s parents he was able to return home in April 2009. Amani has enrolled Ramadhani in Kilimanjaro Primary School and will pay for his tuition and other school fees, meaning that this family can stay together.

Mr and Mrs Adballah were happy to see their child back home with them and were thankful for rescuing Ramadhani from the streets. Ramadhani is glad to be back home, too. He says that he’ll study hard in school and that he’s very thankful for the opportunity he’s been given. Ummy Kimario, a social worker at Amani, said, “We are thrilled about this reunification. Home is always the best place for a child.”
