Amani Ambassadors

The Ambassador Program is a 2-10 day program for people who are enthusiastic about Amani’s mission, want to offer their time and talents to the Amani kids, and are committed to raising funds for the Amani children before their visit.

Ambassadors have a unique opportunity to form friendships with the Amani kids, participate in daily life at Amani, and experience Tanzanian culture. Ambassadors spend lots of quality time with the Amani children and they assist the Amani staff with tasks and small projects. Ambassadors often choose to combine their visit with a safari or a fundraising trek up Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Ambassadors not only have the opportunity to offer the Amani kids love and friendship, they also help provide the children with the things they need to be healthy: food, medicine, an education, and a loving home. Before coming to Amani, Ambassadors act as representatives of the cause, actively raising funds and awareness within their home communities. Amani asks that Ambassadors raise a minimum of $1,000 US (or home country’s equivalent). Through a combination of volunteer time and fund raising efforts, Ambassadors make a lasting impact on the lives of the Amani children. For more information, send an email to info@amanikids.org

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF
AN AMANI AMBASSADOR

8:45-10:45am Work with the Amani cooks preparing traditional Tanzanian food for lunch.

10:45-11:00am Tea break; meet more of the Amani staff and long-term volunteers.

11:00am-1:00pm Assist with English lessons for the two youngest classes of Amani children, help organize the storeroom; or update notice boards.

1:00-1:45pm Enjoy that delicious lunch you helped to prepare!

2:00-4:00pm visit the Amani farm; accompany Amani’s purchasing agent at the market; tackle a small painting project or help Amani’s carpenter varnish new chairs.

4:00-5:00pm Have fun with the Amani children: this is when you get to lead an activity, project or game!
