Long-Term Volunteer Program
Amani Children’s Home welcomes volunteers with skills in a variety of areas. Amani seeks skilled volunteers to fill the following positions:
- Communications Assistant – Marketing professional and/or skilled graphic artist to assist in the production of communications and marketing materials.
- Library Assistant – Creative and motivated individual to staff Amani’s library and assist teachers with Amani’s reading program.
- Music Teacher – Musically-gifted individual to help develop a music program at Amani.
- Health Assistant – A mature and flexible individual, preferably with a medical background, to assist Amani’s nurse in providing health care to the Amani children.
- Visual Arts Teacher – Creative and patient individual to be responsible for the visual arts program at Amani. Teach arts and crafts to the Alternative Education students.

General requirements of Amani Children’s Home volunteers from abroad:
- Volunteers must be 22 years or older.
- Volunteers commit to actively learn Swahili.
- We only accept volunteers who are able to stay at Amani for at least 6 months.
- Volunteers are responsible for their own travel to and from Tanzania as well as the cost of Swahili lessons, all local transport and living expenses while volunteering at Amani.
- Placement as a volunteer with Amani Children’s Home depends on your specific skills and experience, a successful reference check, and the timing and length of your stay.

After you have filled in the application completely, please email it to volunteer@amanikids.org along with an up-to-date curriculum vitae.
Once you have been accepted as an Amani Long-Term Volunteer, we will send you Amani’s Volunteer Handbook, full of useful information that will help you prepare for your time at Amani as well as in Moshi.
