Meet “Mister Perfect”

Meet “Mister Perfect” (Perfect is his real name – gotta LOVE that!)…!

Perfect is 12 years old, and has traveled most of Tanzania already, all by himself and with his street peers. He ran away from his family in the Tabora Region of Tanzania when he was about 9 years old. Within no time, he found his way to the streets of Dar es Salaam (965 kms / 600 miles by road). After some months on the street there, a Tanzanian well-wisher took him in and helped him into a good English Medium private primary school – with the result that Perfect now speaks a decent amount of English!.

Unfortunately, the situation with this well-wisher deteriorated, and Perfect ended up on the streets again. Together with another boy, he then attached himself hanging under the chassis of a big lorry (!), and traveled his way to the city of Arusha (630 kms / 390 miles – 13+ hours of travel). It is on the streets of Arusha, that Amani found him – now about 4-5 months ago, and he was rescued into the Amani Children’s Home in Moshi in December.

Perfect has experienced loads of hardships in his young life, and also got into a lot of unhealthy street habits to survive. But because of your support, he is now slowly getting ready to reunite with his family, and to continue his schooling there – with continued follow-up and support from Amani. He dreams to become a Lawyer one day, so he can help other children who face abuse and who are forced to live on the streets.
